This 1 day glass mosaic making workshop introduces you to basic mosaic techniques. Using a vivid palette of stained glass, you will produce a timeless artwork on a trivet of your choice. You will practice a variety of glass cutting / shaping methods and learn how to grout and seal your artwork.
The studio is set on 6 acres. The first mosaic greets you at the gate and beyond that, your glass artist, Marina Villani will welcome you with a coffee or tea and a quick tour of the studio.
Aside from the many pieces on display, you will also find inspiration in the many photos of past students’ work and an extensive mosaic library. The project for the day is a trivet, which can be used as a pot stand or as a hanging artwork. The focus for this first piece is applying the technique.
